Myklebust Verft has entered into a major conversion contract

news-details

Myklebust Verft has entered into a major conversion contract with Island Offshore. The supply vessel MV Island Condor is to be converted from a supply vessel to a construction vessel. MV Island Condor was built at Vard Brevik, and handed over to the owners in 2014.

MV Island Condor will arrive at the shipyard at the beginning of April 2024. During a stay of 5 months, the vessel will be lengthened in the middle section, including fittings, and an offshore crane and helicopter deck will be fitted. Furthermore, an ROV hangar will be built, and the vessel will be equipped with a larger battery pack. After delivery in August 2024, the vessel is scheduled to go straight into operation. It has been important for both shipyards and ship owners to make use of suppliers of equipment and services from the local maritime cluster.

- We are pleased that Island Offshore has once again chosen Myklebust Verft as a partner. The collaborative relationship between Island Offshore and Myklebust stretches back a long way. We see it as another vote of confidence from the management team that we have again been chosen for such a large and important assignment, says Kristin Hide, daily manager of Myklebust Verft.
